| DENALI SUNRISE - Memories of an Alaskan Summer - 1993
My first attempt at watercolor technique, I started this quilt after spending the summer in Alaska. It was a really fun quilt to work on and in a "labels" class, I made a fancy label for the back. Free-motion machine quilting. |
| AMISH LIGHTS - 1999
Another Origami folded star block, I did this one using many different black fabrics for the background squares so that students in my class could see how many options there were. The stars are all Bali tone on tone batiks. Free-motion machine quilting. |

RUNNING FREE - 2000
Another Southwest theme for my greatroom. Machine appliqued and machine quilted. |

Colours of St Lucia - 2000
Done with "strips 'n curves" technique. My husband and I sailed on a 60 foot, two masted schooner for 10 days in St. Lucia and Martinique in 1996. This quilt is reminiscent of that trip. The palm trees, coral, orchids, sailboats and fish are all 3-dimensional. Beading and other surface embellishments bring this quilt to life.
