TAKING A BREAK - 1994-1999

I call this hand-appliqued, hand-quilted piece my "traveling Santa". I started the applique work in Florida during the winter of 1994, finished the applique in Massachusetts, and quilted it in Arizona the winter of 1999! The bootstraps are ultra-suede (a dream to applique) and the skate blades are tissue lame (a nightmare to applique!). Who says UFOs never get finished?

BLUE DELFT - 1997

Machine pieced border, machine-appliqued motif, but hand-quilted. I had bought the border fabric - Dutch children - at Keepsake Quilting in NH; one of those fabrics one MUST have in their stash. When I saw this pattern, I knew exactly how to use it!

WATER MUSIC - 1998

A miniature paper-piecing project that seemed just right for the "Monet" fabric sitting patiently in my stash; the whole quilt is only 20 x 20. Machine stipple quilting.

PINEAPPLE FANFARE - 1998

Also paper-pieced with numerous scraps using four colors on a cream background, this quilt is also about 20 x 20. Machine free-motion quilting.
